This project was spear-headed by Bob Alford of PRO-STREET CUSTOMS, INC. in Orlando, FL.  (located on SR 441- about 4 miles North of John Young, or from Altamonte just 1/2 mile South off  SR 414 (West Maitland Exit off  Interstate- 4)

SCHEDULE OF SIGNIFICANT EVENTS:

In May of 2006 - START: I ordered Wheels & Tires -- it took 10 months to get them.

Finally in March of 2007, 
I purchased a 1995  Impala SS from an original Six-Pack NAISSO Member,  Ray "Billet" Minchin, Mbr. #6.  His car was originally a DCM - but it will be painted BLACK for my project.

SCHEDULE of ACTIVITIES:

5/31/07 - Car in rough form .. delivered to Pro Street Customs -(by clicking ---> see pics of original car on separate page, )
6/10/07 - Art Morrison complete custom frame - to be CAD-engineered.
6/18/07-  Custom Full Frame ordered -  expect 8 weeks for delivery in crate---  Custom frame with "through exhaust", Wilwood "Big Brake" kits to be installed. (frame to be powder coated later in this build )
7/25/07 - All new weather stripping & rubber seals ordered (parts received from Dal Slabaugh on August 9th)
8/14/07 Hired Next Level Performance to build custom motor with EFI.  Owner & expert is Geoff Skorupa.  
8/15/07 - New custom Frame delivered !!!  -- we are about ready to roll ......!  Go here for details on this date.
8/22/07 - Order new Tranny from Mikes Transmission in California with custom Gear Vendors over-drive unit to be ordered (capable of handling in excess of 800hp) It will be a race ready Turbo 400 (TH-400)
8/25/07 - Chevy "ZZ 572 crate motor" to be ordered (to be fitted with custom EFI system) -- est. HP to be a little over 650 .... maybe more??
Sept. 13th - MOTOR HAS ARRIVED !!! (See pcitures)
Sept.  '07  Entire car to be disassembled, custom tubs for rear-wheels to be fabricated.
Set. 19th - THE WHEELS ARE ON !!!!  
September 28 '07 - the original goal was to have assembled car on new frame for test fit in Nov..... so we are ahead of schedule !  
October: The next step is to add the "tubs" (now done) and pre-fit all the other pieces .... Motor, Tranny, etc, etc. The next major step will be to test fit the hood and order a custom made intake manifold in order to install fuel injection.
December  '07-- disassemble and begin body work & prep for paint.
January -08 - Build Roll cage,  and Prepare body for paint.  
February- '08 -- Reinforce and fit custom smoothie bumpers / Mold rear spoiler onto trunk lid. /Start preliminary plan for custom dash & begin planning custom interior layout and design.  Add new Vintage Air A/C unit and plumbing.
March '08 - Paint base-coat and sand body parts over & over & over again.  Fabricate fuel cell, design new center console, refit rear seat assembly, Add Smoothie bumpers front and rear, install new steering wheel and column.
April - ' 08 - Build custom Headers, Prepare engine bay for new custom Radiator, pre-fit a bunch of shiny new engine pulleys & parts from March Performance.  
May ' 08 -  Final prep for paint before we disassemble entire car to Powder coat frame and all suspension and engine bay parts, etc.
June '08 - Custom interior design work begins ..... a very lonnnnnnggggg  process I find out.  Sound system ordered and fit into place.  Select interior color and materials, etc. etc. etc.
July ' 08 - Car has 4 base coats of paint and will be sanded smooth one more time before the real paint will go on, We have to re-design the front grille / radiator area so that stronger supports can be installed.  Getting rid of the nasty look of the very front of the engine bay.
August - Sept. '08 -  FINALLY ..... disassembly of the car .... preparing for the real paint, my  interior man DALE at Dale's Custom Auto Interiors, is starting his job, and now engine work on fuel injection system to be done simultaneously !!!  
August 21st - Decided to hire Mike Norris of Mike Norris Motorsports (click for website) in Winter Garden, FL (aka "The Vette Doctor") to do the engine work and  fuel injection set-up and tuning. (see the reference above on 8/14/07 - Geoff was Mike's prior partner but appears too busy to work on our desired schedule).
Sept. '08 - Powder coat frame, and change all nuts, bolts, fasteners to stainless steel parts!  We do not want to see any rust on this beast next year.
October '08 - Hope to get Alpine sound system installed and begin re-assembly and test fit again...... this is where we have to really watch for things that may have to be tweaked to fit properly.
November '08 - Check status of final paint, , and complete the motor install. Re-assemble and "HOPE" that we can be ready for one huge Christmas present to myself !!!
 
****** WE ARE OFFICIALLY PAST OUR INITIALLY PLANNED DEADLINE of year end 08.........  

STARTING OVER WITH A NEW ...............  ===> GOAL .............for a finish date of March 15, 2009.

November 11th '08 - Have an "Open House and Photo Shoot" for my local GOFASST car club members to visit Pro-STreet Customs, where the car is being built.  (photos are now posted)
December 08 -  Begin wiring process and add-on all motor and fuel components.  Remember we are adding a customized fuel injection system by FAST, with the help of Mike Norris. -- Mike Norris Motorsports (click for website), in Winter Garden, FL.
January 2009 - Happy New Year !!  --- Interior is being finished, wiring is being done, and thanks to fellow car club member, Mike Morgan .... the final design and installation of the Alpine stereo system is to be completed including a "back-up camera.  A successful test of the basis wiring system was done on Jan 10th... Yippeee !! Willwood Big Brake system to be hooked up and the ZZ572 motor should be started for the first time!  
February 09 - Final phase of installation of dash, interior parts, sound system, glass and other body and trunk parts.  Doors and hood to be rubbed, polished smooth, and installed and the car will "appear" close to completion.....  Many final touches will still need to be done but it should look good at this stage.
March 09 - Probably time to buy an Enclosed Trailer --- Prepare for 1st IMPALA show in Daytona  on March 28th.  Then the next day to Bradenton for the MUSCLE CAR SHOW on March 29th.  
April '09 -  Time to offer the car up for magazine photos and more!
