THANKS ......TO ALL OF THE GUYS WHO HELPED WITH THE
TOOLS AND THE WORK! IT WAS A GOOD DAY !
Highlights of the day:
1. We installed at least three (3) pairs of front spings
......(thanks to JOHN!)
By the way, this is a far more time-consuming job than most
folks can imagine..... and it is very hard work!
2. We installed rear springs, air bags, body bushings,
etc..
3. Several rear suspension sway bars, control arms etc.
were installed.
4. Removed air pump brackets and misc. parts, plus we
inspected the underside of a few beasts while we were at it.
5. Hamburgers and Hot dogs plus cake and ice cream and of
course cold drinks were available all day long.
6. A pontoon boat ride (for those who wanted a short break)
7. Fishing for John, Jr. ... and anyone else who wanted to
do it.
8. A GOFASST club meeting in the shade, just before the
rain.
LOW-LIGHTS:
1. Bob Borchers got some wrong parts shipped to
him. Thanks to Allan for having spare spring isolators in his trunk!
2. Bob Borchers smashed his thumb ...... very painful and a
bit bloody.
......... Thanks to Allan'M's. quick response with an "RN" First Aid
Kit .... he was able to bandage it with gauze, germ killing whiskey and a little
duct tape..... to stop the bleeding and keep everything together! (Please
note that "RN" is NOT .......registered nurse!..... figure it out
yourself)
3. Bob Marks white Caprice 9C1 began running
rough for some unknown reason after minor work on his car...... none of which
was related to the fuel system or ignition or electrical systems. Nothing
done should have impacted the way it ran, ..... Those who were there tried
all the tricks they know, but the problem was not fully resolved. We
HATE when this stuff happens.
4. The women who attended (4) were bored out of their minds
after the first 7 hours, and I think we have learned that an ALL DAY deal
with them aboard is asking a bit too much! We appreciate their
willingness to share in the car stuff, but I bet the husbands affected heard
about it all the way home ............ about 9:30 pm or so.
IT WAS A LONGGGGGGG & HOTTTTTT
September day for all of us, but I believe it was another successful event.
