Dave's Project
Home Up

In July 2008, Dave Goshorm along with Bob Borchers found a 1994 Impala for Sale in his area and he bought it for a "SSssong" ....... here are some pictures that Bob Borchers took and we will post new pictures as the project unfolds.

Nice 1994 Impala SS !

We'll be moving the interior and other parts from Dave's 95 to the 94 in the next few weeks. Dave will then sell his 95. It turns out the 94 is well put together which makes it more advantages to move the interior and other assorted parts from the 95 to the 94 rather than have to move the motor and transmissions between the cars.

Parts for sale:  (as of Oct. 1st - '08)

Dave Goshorn is starting to sell excess parts from his 95 DGGM to 94 396 SS project. This is the first of it, but there will be more to follow.

1. Three gauge A-Pillar piece that is a replacement for the A-Pillar, not just a screw-on piece. This is in great shape and came off the 94 SS Dave bought and has an Autometer Sport-Comp (white faced) tach in the bottom bod. The top two pods are empty. Dave is asking $150

2. Hotchkis undSOLDd engine brace. This piece has some scratches on it and will probably need to be repainted, although it does not look that bad. Dave is asking $100

3. Metco DrSOLDaft loop. Dave is asking $60

4. Sun Coa  SOLD  is the one off Ivan Scerri's car. This one is painted black metallic. Dave is asking $325.

5. Sun Coast Hood. This is the one that came on the 94 SS. This one is painted BBB. Dave is asking $550.

STEP #8:  October 2nd - '08
Dave's Sun Coast hood mounted on his
'94 SS. We picked the hood up from the painter at 4:30PM this afternoon and by 8:30PM, we had basically everything together including the under hood pad and dual under hood lights. This is a 2nd generation Sun Coast Hood and it fit really well.

STEP #7:  Sept. 24th - '08   The spoiler and the rear bumper are installed. The cold air intake is on along with a special order oval K&N filter that fits well with the SSRI and gives maximum filter area.   It is nearing completion.

STEP #6:  Sept. 12th - '08
We are getting closer to getting Dave's project completed, but the painter did not get all the BBB pieces finished, so Dave will not be driving it over to Orlando for the meeting on Saturday. The pictures show the Stillen bumper installed (really good fit) and the rear bumper brace installed. We fitted the rear smoothee bumper and drilled all the holes. It is at the paint shop for the final finish. It fit very well with little adjustment needed.

The 95 DGGM needs a stock tune and a good throttle body. We installed one that had been sitting around for awhile and the PCM is throwing a code and the car does not run well. A replacement throttle body will be here later today. Dave had a lot of parts powder coated (valve covers, engine cover, billet grille, etc. We are waiting for the grille, spoiler, and rear smoothee bumper from the painter. It is getting close.

Also, I sent a picture of the wagon's new RAISS intake for me. I think it looks great and it fits well with the Sun Coast Hood. Dave will use my SSRI on his 94 SS.

STEP #5:  Sept. 5th - '08: - the 1995 DGGM is about ready ....... soon to be -----  FOR SALE :
Dave had the front bumper, front wheel well moldings, grille, and rear spoiler painted and we installed them along with a myriad of other things and what you see is basically and OEM DGGM as far as the body goes. It has stock trailing arms, drive shaft, transmission brace, etc.  Dave took the DGGM back to his house.  ......It will probably go up for sale in a couple more weeks.

STEP #4:  Tropical Storm "Fay" work days ....  Aug 20th- 21st: The engine bay is now cleaned up and ready for action.
Dave was off again today, so we basically got the 95 engine area cleaned up. We removed the nitrous and the remainder of the turbo (what a pain the turbo is to remove)

Since we have been basically house-bound because of Tropical Storm Fay, Dave and I have gotten a lot done in the last few days. We have switched trannys from Dave's 95 to my wagon and had each tranny serviced. I also got the B&M finned tranny pan put on the wagon. It sure drives differently with the 2800 stall converter. It's a great seat-of-pants feeling.

We have moved all the items Dave wanted from under the hood of the 95 onto the 94 and we have removed the front bumper covers, front wheel well moldings and spoilers from the two cars. Dave will be taking the black ones to the painter in the next couple of days to get them painted DGGM. When those get back, the DGGM will basically be ready to sell. (The turbo is about half removed right now--Dave needs a driver's side exhaust manifold to finish the removal) Following getting the DGGM ready to sell, Dave will take the DGGM spoiler, Stillen front bumper cover, and wheel well moldings that go with the Stillen to the painter. He'll also take the second generation Sun Coast Hood to the painter at the same time.

STEP #2:  Week of Week of Aug 12th:  INTERIOR EXCHANGE process .....

Tonight we got the interior out of both cars and are switching out the items Dave wants on the 94. As it turns-out, the auto tranny that came with the 94 is no good. Apparently, moisture got into tranny from sitting on the garage floor and rust formed. The Yank torque converter is ok, but the tranny would need to be rebuilt. We now will be switching out Dave's 95 tranny with the wagon tranny, so I'll end up with a built tranny with a 2800 stall converter. That will happen next Monday.
