1995 Impala SS Wagon
Owners: Bob & Lynn Borchers Melbourne, FL
Club Affiliations: ISSCA (352) & GOFASST (Greater Orlando, Florida
Area SS Team)
Background:
We purchased a 1996 DCM SS new in August, 1996. This
car, with only 39,000 miles, was totaled in a head-on crash in April,
2003. After buying the 96 SS back from the insurance company, we purchased
a 1995 BBB Caprice Classic Wagon with 103,000 miles in May 2003. We took
this wagon to the Tulsa ISSCA Nationals in July, 2003 with some
modifications installed and took a first in the 1995 B-Body Wagon Class.
The final body and paint work were not completed until July 2004, due to
extended business trips. The wagon took a second at the July 2005 ISSCA
Nationals at the Poconos in the Wagon Class (all years of B-Body Wagons
were judge as one class). The wagon received a significant transfusion of
parts from the 96 SS which had been heavily modified with after market
performance and appearance parts. The following lists the 96 DCM SS parts
and other parts installed on our 95 BBB SS Wagon
