Designing the dash is a very complicated and detailed job, but we hope to incorporate and OLD STYLE LOOK with MODERN EQUIPMENT.  
If we are successful, the interior should have a vibrant look with modern guages and state of the art sound system, GPS, and DVD capabilities, along with some feel of the older Impala style.

 

Decided to purchase a complete ALPINE sound system:  (layout to be designed by: Mike Morgan)

 100_2968.JPG (842228 bytes) Two spools of wires but the box is also full.  Over $600 worth of heavy duty wires, digital fuses, connectors, etc. Here is where it will go.  The dash is being completely re-designed to provide  space for the 7 iunch touch screen and other goodies.100_2971.JPG (900431 bytes)  This also will allow me to keep the stock center console box .... but of course the shifter and power control buttons will be custom. Room enough to two 12 inch woofers for sure!100_2972.JPG (914115 bytes)They are so heavy we had to use re-enforced wood (MBF) just to hold things in place!

DASH CLUSTER ..... Changing things around.  Just had to try and mix some MODERN with OLD MUSCLE  so we are creating a dash using the latest digital, multi-colored light Nexus Guages from AUTOMETER.  The system is fully programmable and includes memory to "replay" any special test runs.  In addition, it has a remote control to show-off  the system during a car show ..... very nice at night shows.

It may look strange on its back, but when this unit is tucked underneath the dash on the driver's side .... it brings back memories of my old 1960 Impala SS.		 Air Intake 

100_2978.JPG (958598 bytes)This custom designed 4 inch aluminum tube system will suck air from two directions so the big block won't starve.  Of course this will be powder-coated to look good.

HEADERS:

Custom made headers for drivers side to be ceramic coated.
