CURRENT NEWS

ITEM  # 1: Nov. 14th '09 -  Terry Rodgers won the - Best of Show - "COOL CAT" trophy at the Emerald Coast Cruise car show in Panama City, FL.  There were over 1,900 show cars registered and attendance was the highest in the 5 year history of the show.  

ITEM  # 2: He will always be us.......

On Saturday, September 12th, 2009 our close friend and fellow club member Mr. Wayne Beaman passed away after a long battle with various health issues over the past couple of years. Wayne was a very special "car guy" with a passion for Impalas, and he was always willing to participate and volunteer for any club function.

 We will greatly miss Wayne but he gave us many wonderful memories to keep forever in our hearts. 

Our sincere condolences go out to his wife Jo Ann and their family.

ITEM  # 3: Discounted GM Parts: AS of ....JUNE 18, 2009

A fellow club member, Steve Lazinsk (Tubbed Pro-Street '63 Impala), works at Bob Steele Chevy in Cocoa and he has negotiated a 20% discount on parts for GOFASST Members.  The information for Bob Steele Parts Dept is in the following paragraph I received from Steve.  Identify yourself as GOFASST Members when ordering parts.

“As I had mentioned, our Parts Dep't. Manager Dean Trovinger, said he would be happy to give GOFASST members a 20% discount on parts.  He said to have members call BOB or BARRY at our Parts Department counter.  Bob Steele Chevrolet main number is ----- 321-632-6700.”

ITEM  # 4: New club t-shirt design being created -  to include 1978 Impala up to 1996 models.  The club hopes to have a new design approved during the summer 2009 so we can have new shirts for the Fall show season.

.ITEM  #5:........GOFASST MONTHLY MEETINGS:

REGULARY SCHEDULED MONTHLY CRUISES FOR 2009 are now held at the Sam's Club parking lot / next to Bob Evans Restaurant on SR 436 just East of SR 17-92. location until further notice !

  ITEM  #6:Don't know how many of you have seen Larry Luype's wagon, but I've attached a recent picture of it playing with some vintage Indy cars at Daytona. Larry attended the Silver Springs Show last October, but he is usually working weekends so we don't get a chance to see his working wagon.

ITEM  #7: ....  The officers of GOFASST have voted to invite older Impala SS models to join our club.  Impala SS Models from 1958 all the way to 1996... this could add a great deal of interest and enthusiasm to our club events in the future!

ITEM  #8: ...  Mike Morgan.... moving to a new career job in DENVER, Colorado.   Left Florida on May 24th,  to work as a Sound Engineer at an independent company providing technical support and product innovation ideas for multiple sound systems throughout the U.S.    Most of you will remember that Mike was past President of GOFASST and he spent several years previously as our Daytona Show Event Coordinator.  CONGRATULATIONS to Mike along with a big "Thank you" for all your club support and help over the years!
